New Delhi [India], April 21: On April 22nd, in honour of World Earth Day, VEEN, a premium natural mineral water brand from Bhutan – recognized as the world’s first carbon-negative country – will partner with ACROSS, a Himalayan-inspired cuisine restaurant, to host an elegant and meaningful dinner experience.

Titled “ACROSS the Kingdom of Bhutan,” the evening will showcase a strong commitment to sustainability, provenance, and mindful creation. Bhutan is a treasure cove of nature’s bounty, with various spices, fruits, and herbs that provide sustenance and nutrition to its inhabitants. ACROSS & VEEN have sourced these rare and wholesome ingredients to provide a unique dining experience. This collaboration unites two brands with a profound respect for nature and a dedication to delivering thoughtful, value-driven experiences.

VEEN, sourced from the pristine valleys of Bhutan, embodies more than just purity; it symbolizes conscious living. Originating from a country renowned for its commitment to environmental responsibility, the brand champions sustainability, low-impact practices, and a profound connection to its source.

ACROSS, which opened in Mumbai’s Kala Ghoda in November 2024, invites diners to explore the lesser-known culinary traditions of the Eastern Himalayas. The first chapter of its menu focuses on ingredients and techniques from Northeast India, Nepal, and Bhutan, celebrating the region through fermentation-based cooking, foraging, and storytelling. The restaurant’s philosophy emphasizes authenticity and simplicity, prioritizing substance over style.

VEEN and ACROSS are collaborating to present a unique seven-course tasting menu that takes diners on a sensory journey through the Eastern Himalayas. This menu is crafted with a deep respect for terroir, culture, and conscious cooking. It begins with Yak Cheese Gougères, accompanied by the country’s Dalle Aioli and Ezay, a nod to Bhutan’s love for goat flavours and indigenous cheese. The Hogay, featuring Goat’s Milk Custard, reinterprets a classic Bhutanese salad. The Emma Datshi Ravioli in a Chilli Velouté reimagines Bhutan’s national dish. Cured River Trout with Corn and Nettle Mornay highlights the region’s rivers and foraged greens. Braised Pork Belly with Red Rice Risotto celebrates heirloom grains and local spices. Finally, the meal concludes with Suja Panna Cotta and Phapar Biscotti, offering a sweet twist on Bhutan’s traditional butter tea and buckwheat.

“World Earth Day is not just about awareness but our choices. At VEEN, we have always believed that respecting the source is essential. Coming from Bhutan, a country that leads by example, we view sustainability not as a trend but as a responsibility. Collaborating with ACROSS allows us to express that belief through food and culture,” says Ganesh Iyer, India’s first Certified Water Sommelier and Managing Partner at VEEN Waters India Pvt. Ltd.

This dinner is curated for exclusive guests deeply engaged with sustainability, heritage, and refined living themes. Every detail, from the ingredients used to the ambience of the evening, has been thoughtfully designed to reflect the shared ethos of both brands.

“This collaboration is a quiet celebration of origin and craft. Working with VEEN has allowed us to delve deeper into our shared values of slowing down, being thoughtful with ingredients, and allowing each dish to convey a sense of place and purpose,” added Chef Viraf Patel and Prakriti Lama Patel, Co-Curators at ACROSS.

As the world reflects on its relationship with nature, ACROSS the Kingdom of Bhutan provides a moment to reconnect with the land, what we consume, and how we choose to create.
