Kozhikode (Kerala) [India], September 30: Avani Institute of Design in Calicut hosted the much-anticipated Dialogue 3.0, a part of its ongoing series aimed at exploring diverse realms within architecture. The event took place at the Avani Design Lab and featured an engaging discussion that brought together notable voices from the architectural community, including alumni and distinguished professionals. This session sought to delve into the intricate intersections of architecture, design, and creativity, fostering an environment ripe for stimulating conversations that inspire innovation.

“Fostering conversations among diverse voices in architecture is essential for igniting creativity and innovation. At Avani, we see Dialogue 3.0 as a platform not only to share knowledge but also to inspire a new generation of architects who will redefine the boundaries of design and its impact on society,” said Ar. Tony Joseph, Chairman and Principal of the Avani Institute of Design.

The dialogue was moderated by Ar. William George Kennedy, an Assistant Professor at the institute, who guided the conversation between two prominent figures in the field: Ar. Ashif Salim and Ar. Sherin Kadeeja. Ar. Ashif, an accomplished architect and brand designer, shared insights from his extensive experience in merging architecture with branding. His work has spanned various sectors, including collaborations with notable film production companies and creative projects across different industries. As a graduate of Avani Institute of Design, his journey reflects a blend of architectural expertise and creative branding strategies.

In contrast, Ar. Sherin Kadeeja brought a unique perspective as the Creative Head of The Long House Collective and a full-time artist with a master’s degree in Sustainable Architecture. Her leadership in curating art projects and her role as an illustrator for Lamborghini India showcased her ability to blend art, culture, and architecture seamlessly. Kadeeja’s achievements include founding the Calicut Flea Market and serving as the Art Director for one of Kerala’s first techno music festivals, demonstrating her multifaceted contributions to both the artistic and architectural landscapes.

The Dialogue series at Avani Institute of Design aims not only to highlight individual achievements but also to uncover the essential elements that shape the architectural profession today. By facilitating discussions among professionals who are pushing boundaries in their fields, the institute continues to position itself as a hub for innovative thought and creative exploration in design education.

As this event unfolded, it became clear that Dialogue 3.0 was not merely a platform for sharing experiences but also a catalyst for inspiring future architects and designers to think critically about their roles in society. The conversations sparked during this session are expected to resonate within the community long after the event concluded, reinforcing Avani Institute of Design’s commitment to fostering creativity and collaboration among its students and alumni.
