    Vedanta Lanjigarh Organises Voluntary Blood Donation Drive, Collects 247 Units

    Lanjigarh (Odisha) [India], January 5: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, recently organised a voluntary blood donation camp at its Lanjigarh operations in collaboration with the Odisha Blood Centre, Bhawanipatna. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees, business partners, and the community, resulting in the collection of 247 units of blood.

    The drive reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and services in the Kalahandi district, ensuring that community well-being remains central to its growth journey.

    Pranab Kumar Bhattacharyya, CEO, Vedanta Alumina Business, said, “This successful blood donation drive is a testament to our core philosophy: the health of the community is the wealth of the region. Our commitment to our community extends far beyond our operational boundaries. We are strategically invested in elevating the quality of life across healthcare, education, and infrastructure, ensuring sustainable progress for Odisha’s tribal heartland.”

    Healthcare remains a cornerstone of Vedanta Lanjigarh’s community development efforts. The Vedanta Hospital in the region provides free medical care to over 67,000 people annually. Through its flagship initiative, Project Aarogya, the company conducted more than 660 Mobile Health Unit (MHU) camps in FY2024-25, delivering doorstep healthcare to over 20,500 individuals in remote villages. Complementing treatment with prevention, 680 awareness sessions were organised on hygiene, wellness, and disease prevention, reaching 15,000 people and fostering healthier communities.

    Vedanta Lanjigarh continues to play an active role as a responsible development partner, driving initiatives across education, healthcare, livelihoods, and rural infrastructure. By working closely with local authorities and community stakeholders, the company ensures that its interventions lead to tangible socio-economic progress, making sustainable development a shared reality for Odisha’s tribal heartland.
