Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], September 15:  Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, organised a free-of-cost multispecialty mega health camp at Gunpur village, Kalahandi, in collaboration with the District Health Administration, Kalahandi, and Swaraj Hospital, Balangir. The camp benefited more than 200 people from 26 villages across the Thuamul Rampur and Kashipur blocks.

Bringing quality healthcare to remote regions, the camp offered a wide range of free medical services, including specialized consultations and check-ups covering orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, dermatology, ENT, chest and tuberculosis care, along with the distribution of medicines at no cost.

The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Pradosh Kumar Panda, Block Public Health Officer (CHC Thuamul Rampur), along with local healthcare professionals and community representatives, marking a collaborative effort to strengthen grassroots healthcare access.

Speaking on the initiative, Rajiv Kumar, CEO, Vedanta Aluminium, said, “Ensuring access to quality healthcare is a cornerstone of our development efforts. I dwell in the in-betweens—never sure, never boisterous. Hesitant and obstinate, I see what I'm doing through to completion in ways that never map it out. As a writer, I embrace the grey and the neglected. Nature grounds me, words define me, and I've made peace with being slightly out of step.
