    Vedanta Aluminium Organises Mega Health Camp for Rural Communities in Sundargarh

    Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], May 26: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, organised a mega health camp at the Mundherkhet Gram Panchayat Office in Hemgir block, Sundargarh district, reaching out to more than 200 beneficiaries. The initiative was undertaken by Vedanta as part of its continued efforts to strengthen healthcare access for rural communities in the region covering Mundherkhet, Jharpalam, Garjanjore, and nearby Gram Panchayats (GP). The camp was inaugurated by Mr. Chinmay Kumar Mishra, Assistant Executive Engineer, Hemgir, in the presence of Mr. Sanyasi Bag, Sarpanch, Munderkhet GP, Hemgir.

    Bringing quality healthcare to remote regions, the camp offered an array of free services, including specialized consultations and check-ups covering orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, dermatology, ENT, chest and tuberculosis care along with the distribution of medicines free of cost. Additionally, awareness sessions on hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention were conducted to promote preventive healthcare and improve long-term community well-being.

    Speaking about the company’s community–focused healthcare initiatives, Sunil Gupta, COO, Vedanta Aluminium, said, “At Vedanta, we recognise the fundamental importance of ensuring accessible healthcare for all. Through such mega health camps, we strive to bolster rural healthcare and create a lasting positive impact on the well-being of our communities.     Sanyasi Bag, Sarpanch, Munderkhet GP, Hemgir Block, Sundargarh expressed, “Access to quality healthcare is a challenge in our area, especially for the elderly and women. I thank Vedanta for bringing this camp to our community. It ensured that people received quality medical care and guidance without having to leave the village. This initiative was timely and well-executed.”
