Unveiling The Purvanchal Files: A Cinematic Mirror of Societal Realities
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 28: The poster for the Hindi feature film The Purvanchal Files has been released. The film is based on stories set in the backdrop of crime, corruption, and politics in the state of Eastern Uttar Pradesh. Produced under the banner of Rudraksha Telefilms, this action film is scheduled for release in theaters on September 22, 2023.
The film features R. Siddharth as the protagonist, an IPS officer determined to eradicate crime and corruption in the city. Actor R. Siddharth, who has made a notable impact in South Indian films, is making his Bollywood debut with this movie.
The film’s co-producers are Raj Vasoya and Manali Vasoya, and it is directed by Swaroop Ghosh. Apart from action and thriller elements, the film also includes four situational songs. These songs include a celebration track, an item song, a romantic song, and a title track that advances the storyline. The shooting of this family film took place in Mumbai, Mirzapur (Uttar Pradesh), and Nainital.
On the poster release, director Swaroop Ghosh stated that with “The Purvanchal Files, I wanted to delve into the underbelly of Eastern Uttar Pradesh, portraying stories of crime, corruption, and politics while weaving a narrative that not only engages but also sheds light on the socio-political realities. Through this film, we aim to present a gripping cinematic experience that reflects the challenges and triumphs of our society. I believe that storytelling has the power to spotlight issues and inspire change, and I hope The Purvanchal Files does just that.”
The story and screenplay are written by Rajendra Tripathi, dialogue by Nisar Akhtar, and music and background score are composed by Somen Sarkar Kutty. The songs are penned by Swagat and Neetu Pandey Kranti. The executive producer is Raj Kishor Sahni, DOP by Jatan Prajapati, the editing by Tapas Ghosh, the costume design by Pallavi, the action direction by Pradeep Khadka, and the choreography by Shafi Sheikh. In addition to R. Siddharth, the film stars Shivani Thakur, Zarina Wahab, Govind Namdev, Mukesh Tiwari, Hemant Pandey, Amita Nangia, and Heramb Tripathi in significant roles.
Produced under the banner of Rudraksha Telefilm in association with Le Brand Entertainment, headed by Ashish Johri, this action film is set to release in theatres on September 22, 2023, and distributed by Reliance Entertainment.
