Raincoats were handed over in the presence of Police Inspector Jyoti Suryavanshi by Ms Renu Nair, Regional Head, Union Bank of India Regional Office, Thane.

Speaking on occasion, Ms Renu Nair said, “Women account for a small but growing percentage of police personnel. Women have high interpersonal communication skills, which enables women to improve police-community relations effectively. Union Bank of India salutes the courage of Women Police Officers who work 365 days a year to keep our city safe.”

Alok Adhikari, Trustee of the non-profit organisation ‘Yashlok Welfare Foundation’ said. “Every year when we train and help employ new unemployed underprivileged people, it is not only a contribution to national income, but they also create reliable social safety nets for their families and communities. The protective gear has road safety messages printed on them, which makes the raincoat itself a beacon of creating road safety awareness. Since we believe in reusing waste for sustainability, the raw material used for the raincoat is made from recycled waste, and the entire raincoat is recyclable. The Union Bank of India has contributed to Raincoats for the Police force for the past six years. From the bottom of my heart, I thank the Union Bank of India for supporting the noble cause of creating sustainable livelihood for the underprivileged, which resulted in Raincoat suits for the Mumbai Police. We shall look forward to their continued support in the years to come.”
