    Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], June 23: Shri Mahila Sewa Sahakari Bank Ltd. India’s first women’s bank for the informal sector, hosted the “Women-in-Business Camp” at The Fern Hotel, Ahmedabad. Established in 1974, SEWA Bank supports self-employed women with financial literacy, counselling and banking services and now operates across Gujarat through 13 branches.

    In 2022, SEWA Bank partnered with the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management to support women entrepreneurs in their growth phase. Together, they designed a new financial product and training series to enhance the business skills of Micro Entrepreneurs.

    The event saw participation from 33 women micro-entrepreneurs across sectors such as Garment manufacturing, imitation jewellery, catering, dairy and beauty industry. These women completed the training sessions and were recognized for their achievements during the camp.

    The event was attended by SEWA Bank Managing Director Ms. Jayshree Vyas, Chief General Manager Ms. Vandana Shah and German partners Ms. Bettina Wittlinger and Ms. Maren Richter.

    With over 6 lakh women members, SEWA Bank continues its 51 years legacy of empowering women with innovative products and dedicated support for their economic independence. Sewa Bank thrives to empower these micro entrepreneurs by offering them solutions to expand their enterprises.
