Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India] November 14: Hirav Shah, noted entrepreneur and founder and Director of Event Bazaar, shared his invaluable insights on entrepreneurship and other aspects during a thought-provoking keynote address at IIT Kanpur’s prestigious Antaragni 2024 cultural fest.
Speaking at the “Ideas Matter Most” session on October 19, Mr Shah, the only speaker from Gujarat, shared his thoughts on networking and the importance of pushing beyond comfort zones to an enthusiastic audience of students and aspiring entrepreneurs.
In his address, Mr Shah emphasised the need to transcend formal education for leadership and highlighted the value of adaptability and out-of-the-box thinking in today’s increasingly competitive world. He also spoke about the pivotal role of networking, saying “Your network is your net worth”.
He detailed his active involvement in organisations such as Young Indians, Young Presidents Organisation, Corporate Connections, Business Network International (BNI), GCCI and JITO and underscored how giving back through knowledge, time or resources to these networks strengthens one’s personal and professional growth.
A staunch advocate for the societal impact of entrepreneurship, Mr Shah shared his perspective on how startups today are addressing daily challenges while contributing to the greater good.
“Entrepreneurship drives meaningful change in society. Startups not only solve problems but also contribute to nation-building by integrating social causes and entrepreneurship,” he said.
In his concluding remarks, he encouraged students to embrace discomfort and risk, urging them to step out of their comfort zones.
“Comfort zones are danger zones. You need to decide if you want to be big or if you want to grow old. If you want to grow big, you have to take risks,” he added.
