New Delhi [India], March 10: The Real Woman Awards 2025, held on International Women’s Day, honored exemplary women who are shaping the Indian construction and infrastructure landscape. The prestigious platform recognized female professionals across various domains, celebrating their leadership, innovation, and contributions to an industry that has traditionally been male-dominated.

At a time when women constitute only about 12% of the workforce in India’s construction sector, the awards underscored the growing impact of female professionals who are breaking barriers. The evening saw an inspiring assembly of industry stalwarts, policymakers, and business leaders, all gathered to applaud the women leaders redefining the sector’s future. The awards were hosted by celebrity host and Bollywood actor Aman Verma, adding to the evening’s grandeur.

Among the distinguished winners was Yasmin Jal Mistry, who was honored for her excellence in Construction Materials, reflecting the critical role women play in the materials and supply chain ecosystem. Dr. Neeti Trivedi, recognized under the Academician category, was celebrated for her contributions to shaping the next generation of architects and engineers through research and education. Shaifali Singh, awarded under Real Estate Development, exemplified leadership in a field where female representation remains disproportionately low.

The awards also highlighted the impact of sustainability and innovation. Dr. Himansha Singh, recognized for Innovative Sustainable Materials, stood out for her pioneering work in eco-friendly construction solutions. Sarita Sanjay More, a winner in the MEP Consultant category, reinforced the increasing role of women in technical and engineering domains. Similarly, P. Sitha Mahalakshmi, awarded for Architect – Urban Spaces, showcased how women are shaping the architectural fabric of modern India.

Speaking at the event, Sheetal Bhilkar, Founder of Real Woman Awards, emphasized the need for greater gender diversity in construction. “This platform is not just about recognition but about rewriting industry norms. Women are building India’s future, and it is time their contributions are seen, acknowledged, and celebrated. These awards serve as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring women professionals in construction.”

Adding to this, Vijay Dalwani, Co-Founder of Real Woman Awards, reflected on the initiative’s impact over the years: “We are in our fifth year and have already completed six editions of the awards. With this seventh edition, we see a drastic change in the industry’s approach. More organizations are now taking their women workforce seriously, creating internal recognition programs, facilities, and actively engaging more women entrepreneurs in their projects. This is such a positive change, and we are proud to have been instrumental in bringing this shift.”

The event started with “Celebrating Women in Construction” Conclave spearheaded by The Real Woman Global Community and was inaugurated by Shri Vinayak Pai, MD of Tata Projects Limited. There were quite a few interesting and inspiring panel discussions, fireside chats and keynote by eminent Industry leaders like Shri Anupam Mittal – Director of Arinem.
