New Delhi (India), february 3: As the date of the medical internship got postponed to 30th June, the students are demanding the postponement of the NEET PG exam, as they didn’t participate in the medical counselling process which is held in July, without their internship certificate. As the one-year internship is mandatory in MBBS, after that you can participate in the counselling process of NEET PG 2023. The students ask the authority to postpone the exam date by six to eight weeks, by which they can get enough time to prepare for their exam. As the exam is held on 5th march, 2023 and the results are to be out by 31st march 2023, as per the earlier NBE criteria, but as the medical internship date got shifted to 30th June, students find it difficult to participate in the counselling process, after the exam. It is just a waste of time to sit idle for three to four months, instead of that the official date of examination should be shifted, which will cover the idle time of students in their studies.

So, the students are demanding an extension or postponing the NEET PG 2023 exam, where many doctors and medical associations also support the students, for their betterment. This whole scenario happens because of the extension of the NEET PG internship date to June 30, so the date of the exam is also shifted to May, for the students for their completion of an internship as well as get the time for their studies. The demand of the students are right and the date of the exam should be shifted to May, as the medical counsellors are also in favour of students, Gaurav Tyagi, the medical counsellor, also support the students in their demands and also wanted to shift the examination date to May, as it helps the students for their studies and achieves better marks in their exam.

Dr Rohan Krishnan, the National Chairman of the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA), says that the “NEET PG exam should be postponed till May as counselling cannot start before July”, where @MoHFW_INDIA to look into this seriously & @NMC_INDshould become more students friendly. Also, the NEET MDS extension for the internship cut-off date should be done similarly to NEET PG”. through this Tweet, he is advising the authorities to look after this matter seriously and take the action properly, as he is also in support of the students as they should get more time to study and the date of the examination should be shifted to May, after the medical internship date 30, June.

According to Gaurav Tyagi, Founder of Career Xpert-

The demands of the student should be heard and the date of the examination should be shifted to May, as they didn’t get the time to study, even they also can’t participate in the counselling process without the internship certificate. It is better to study instead of idle sitting for 3 to 4 months, so it should be shifted the exam in May
