    ITS India Hosts Transformative Connected Vehicles Stakeholder Meet 2025

    New Delhi [India], February 11:  The ITS India Forum, India’s premier platform for innovation in Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), successfully hosted the Connected Vehicles Stakeholder Meet 2025 at Le Meridien, New Delhi. This milestone event brought together leading industry executives, policymakers, technologists, and other key stakeholders to chart the path forward for connected vehicle technologies in India.

    Focused on harnessing ITS advancements to improve road safety, tolling systems, congestion management, and driving intelligence, the summit reinforced India’s commitment to building a sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready mobility ecosystem.

    Key Milestones and Announcements

    1. Landmark MoU with 5G Automotive Association (5GAA):

    In a major step toward integrating global expertise with India’s mobility ecosystem, an MoU was signed between ITS India Forum and the 5G Automotive Association (5GAA).

    This pivotal agreement was formalized by Mr. Jim Misener, Senior Director, Qualcomm, and Shri Akhilesh Srivastava, President, ITS India Forum, under the moderation of Dr. Shiv Kumar. The partnership is set to accelerate the adoption of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technology, boosting India’s progress in connectivity, safety, and efficiency in transportation systems.

    2. Launch of ITS India Capacity Building and Centre of Experience:

    Shri D Sarangi, Special Secretary & DG, MoRTH, inaugurated the ITS India Capacity Building and Centre of Experience initiative. Moderated by Prof. P.K. Sikdar, this initiative aims to:

    • Build a skilled workforce for ITS.

    • Promote R&D in AI-based traffic management, green corridors, and connected mobility solutions.

    • Foster collaborations between academia, industry, and government.

    3. Fireside Chat: Enhancing Quality of Life Through Technology:

    A fireside chat between Mr. Jim Misener and Shri Akhilesh Srivastava provided thought-provoking insights into the transformative impact of technologies like IoT, AI, and V2X communication on improving safety, logistics, and urban mobility.

    Thought Leadership and Plenary Sessions

    The plenary session, “Connected Vehicles to Revolutionize Road Safety, Tolling Systems, Congestion Management, and Driving Intelligence,” featured leading speakers:

    The session spotlighted how connected vehicles are key to solving urban mobility challenges, reducing road fatalities, and promoting sustainable transport systems.

    Panel Discussion: Implementation Roadmap for Connected Vehicles

    A high-level “Readiness and Advancements in Connected Vehicle Technology” panel discussion provided actionable insights. Chaired and moderated by Shri Mahmood Ahmed, Additional Secretary, MoRTH, and co-chaired by Mr. Amit Chitranshi, COO, IHMCL, the session brought together eminent experts, including:

    • Shri R.S. Singh, DDG, Telecom, DoT

    • Dr. Punit Rathod, Lead, Technical Standards, Qualcomm

    • Dr. S. Velmurugan, Chief Scientist, CSIR-CRRI

    • Commander Mukesh Saini (Veteran), Former PMO Security Coordinator

    • Mitra Sen Verma, Scientist-D, BIS

    • CA Pooja Khemka, CEO & Co-founder, trackNOW Pvt Ltd

    Discussions centered around:

    • Building infrastructure for ITS readiness.

    • Developing policy frameworks for scalable connected mobility.

    The event showcased groundbreaking innovations through solo presentations by leading entities such as:

    These organizations highlighted next-generation solutions in smart traffic management, V2X technologies, AI-powered fleet safety systems, and more.

    Message from Hon’ble Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari

    In a special address, Hon’ble Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari (MoRTH) emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering innovation in ITS. He reiterated India’s focus on achieving the goals of Viksit Bharat@2047 through sustainable, connected, and efficient transportation solutions.

    ITS India’s Alignment with Global Priorities

    The forum underscored its contributions toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

    • SDG 11: Sustainable Cities & Communities – Promoting inclusive and safe urban mobility.

    • SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, & Infrastructure – Driving ITS innovation and adoption.

    • SDG 13: Climate Action – Advancing green corridors and climate-responsive transport solutions.

    • SDG 3: Good Health & Well-Being – Reducing traffic injuries through ITS-driven safety measures.

    Achievements and Future Directions
