Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 27: The Institute of Indian Arts (IOIA) has achieved a monumental milestone, creating history on the national stage. At the highly celebrated A.N.A.S.S. (Akhil Natarajan Antaram Sanskriti Sangh) All India Nationals, one of India’s most prestigious dance championships, IOIA students secured first place across categories. The students rose to the top under the expert leadership of Tej Sir and Pragnya Ma’am, making this one of the biggest achievements in the institute’s journey.

Adding unmatched glory to this success, Tej Sir was honored with the esteemed “Nrutya Avishkar Award for Best Choreographer.” This recognition celebrates his innovative choreography that guided IOIA performers to victory and firmly established him among the nation’s most respected artistic visionaries.

A Historic Moment for IOIA and Indian Dance

Winning first place at the All India Nationals of A.N.A.S.S. is no small feat. With participants from across the globe, the competition drew together some of the finest classical and contemporary dance talents. IOIA students left the judges and audience mesmerized with their captivating Bharatanatyam, classical fusions, and original group choreographies.

The highlight of the event was the winning performance that blended rich traditions of Bharatanatyam with a contemporary narrative, showcasing IOIA’s philosophy of balancing heritage with innovation.

While the students walked away with national recognition, their mentor Tej Sir won the prestigious “Nrutya Avishkar Award for Best Choreographer.” This award is one of the highest honors for choreographers in India, recognizing his brilliance in training, designing choreography, and inspiring young dancers to reach their highest potential.

The Winning Performances: A Showcase of Discipline and Creativity

The IOIA delegation excelled in solo, duet, trio, junior, and senior Bharatanatyam categories, sweeping through competitions that saw thousands of entries. The performances were described as:

    • “Mesmerizing in technique, flawless in coordination, and powerful in expression.”

    • A beautiful blend of Indian classical dance traditions with contemporary creativity.

    • Proof that IOIA students are not just performers, but artists shaping India’s cultural heritage for the future.

The victory also reflects the years of relentless practice, discipline, and passion that students, guided by their mentors, invested in perfecting their art.

The Nrutya Avishkar Award for Best Choreographer

Perhaps the most significant highlight of the event was Tej Sir’s recognition with the Nrutya Avishkar Award for Best Choreographer.

This award is given only to choreographers whose work reflects originality, storytelling depth, and technical mastery. Tej Sir’s choreography for IOIA blended traditional Bharatanatyam movements with a modern stage presentation, making the act unique yet authentic.

    The choreography was praised for:

    • Its ability to narrate a powerful cultural story while staying rooted in tradition.

    • Seamless execution by the students that highlighted both discipline and creativity.

    • Inspiring an audience to not just watch, but deeply engage with the performance.

Winning this award not only lifted IOIA’s stature but also created a benchmark for future choreographers in the Indian performing arts scene.

    IOIA’s Guiding Philosophy

The Institute of Indian Arts (IOIA) stands by its powerful belief:

“Hard Work and Passion to Be Unique and Creative.”

This philosophy encourages every student to push boundaries, remain disciplined in classical foundations, and strive for artistic excellence. Unlike many institutes where focus lies solely on performance, IOIA emphasizes:

    • Rigorous training in classical dance forms, especially Bharatanatyam.

    • Freedom to explore creative individuality under mentorship.

    • Discipline and teamwork that prepare students for national and international platforms.

This combination of tradition and innovation is exactly what helped IOIA shine at A.N.A.S.S. Nationals.

Raising the Flag of Indian Culture

IOIA’s win, along with Tej Sir’s Nrutya Avishkar Award for Best Choreographer, symbolizes a larger movement: raising the flag of Indian culture across nations.

    • Every performance is not just about dance—it is about representing the identity of India on global platforms.

    • IOIA has become a symbol of how youthful creativity can keep India’s classical heritage alive while also pushing it forward.

    • By securing this recognition, IOIA inspires other institutions to prioritize cultural depth and innovation.

Institute of Indian Arts – Where Stars Are Born

This success is proof that when discipline meets creativity, and tradition meets innovation, magic is created on stage. With Pragnya Ma’am’s guidance and Tej Sir’s visionary leadership, IOIA is not just producing dancers—it is creating cultural stars of tomorrow.
