New Delhi (India), January 22: The curtains draw close to the production of “Gloora,” a cinematic masterpiece written and directed by the indomitable Alan Vikranth. Alan Vikranth has etched his name in history by becoming the first person worldwide to helm direction and cinematography from a wheelchair.

Set against the captivating backdrop of the Kannavam forest and the picturesque Vagamon, reminiscent of cinematic wonders like Baahubali and Pazhassiraja, “Gloora” releases in sixteen languages across the globe, including English, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. Alan Vikranth ‘s seated-in-a-wheelchair journey to bring this project to life exemplifies his passion and dedication to the artistic world.

A former student of cinematography at the Kochi Film Institute in 2016, Alan Vikranth faced a tragic accident in 2018 that left him paraplegic, reliable to a wheelchair due to his spinal cord injury. Undeterred by adversity, Alan Vikranth  pursued his love and admiration for cinema, displaying filmmaking determination to achieve the extraordinary – directing, cinematographing, and crafting the screenplay for “Gloora.”

Overcoming the challenges posed by inaccessible locations in forests and hills, Alan Vikranth completed the film in approximately 50 days across four schedules, with friends helping to carry him to the sets. The narrative of “Gloora” takes audiences to an empire that thrived 1500 years ago, exploring its mysteries and myths within the realms of horror, myth, and fantasy. The film promises a visual extravaganza, breaking new ground in Indian cinema with graphics and visuals rarely witnessed before.

In a collaboration, Hollywood VFX director Ferdinant Joy lent his expertise to bring the fantastical elements of “Gloora” to life. The film’s editing was skillfully handled by Daniel Pakalomattam, an associate of the renowned Film Editor Mr.Anthony, known for his contributions to blockbuster movies like Enthiran, 2.0, and Ghajini.

Produced by Clint Sebastian under the banner of Rainbow Universal Studios, “Gloora” boasts a stellar crew, including cinematographers Alan Vikranth, Bibin Joy, Richumon Joseph, Harikrishnan B; creative director Aswath R Nath; sound effects by Sanoj Joy; makeup by Manoj MST Parappanangady; art direction by Ragesh VS Keezhillam, Vishnu M Mani; associate directors Aswin Mathew, Aswath R Nath; production managers Jibin T George, Justin TJ; costume design by Ajeesh Kumar VJ; featuring actors Sandy Zero, Albi Agusty, Josu, Sreenath TK, George TV; and drone operation by Tony John.

“Gloora” is poised to grace the screens with its cinematic brilliance and is scheduled for release around April this year. This milestone achievement by Alan Vikranth not only marks a cinematic triumph but also serves as an inspiring chapter in the annals of inclusive artistry.
