Born on 1st September 1979 in Chandannagar, West Bengal, and raised in Asansol, Ghosh’s life has been defined by resilience, adaptability, and an eternal quest for meaning. She completed her schooling at Tulsi Rani School in Asansol, excelling in academics and earning distinction in Biology during her secondary examinations in 1997. With aspirations of pursuing medicine, she attempted the joint entrance examinations but did not clear them—a moment that became a turning point in her journey.
Undeterred, she redirected her path to the creative arts, moving to Mangalore in 1998 to study B.Sc. in Garment Designing at the Mangalore Institute of Fashion Technology. After graduating in 2001, she began her professional career working with garment and leather factories in Delhi and Kolkata as an assistant merchandiser. By 2005, she shifted to Mumbai with a close childhood friend, embracing the dynamism of the city and continuing to shape her professional and personal life.
Now, at 45, Sanchari Ghosh reflects on a life of trials, growth, and enlightenment. Her first book, From Darkness to Light, is the product of years of introspection, rewritings, and courage to put her deepest realizations into words. For Ghosh, completing this book has been a blessing—one that gives her life greater meaning and purpose.
Although she had always enjoyed reading, and as a schoolgirl often wrote poems and diary entries, Ghosh had never imagined becoming an author. The idea took shape during a period of profound self-enquiry, when she faced personal struggles that prompted her to look within. Through this journey of self-realisation, she discovered her true self and felt compelled to share her experience with others who might benefit from a similar path of reflection.
