Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], June 7: The first poster of the much-anticipated Gujarati film Deda was unveiled today, offering a powerful and evocative glimpse into what promises to be one of the year’s most moving cinematic experiences. Produced by Brijraj Entertainment in association with TM Entertainment Productions, Deda stars Gaurav Passwala and Helly Shah in lead roles and is slated for a theatrical release on 4th July 2025.
The poster presents a haunting visual of a man weighed down by despair yet driven by an unrelenting will to protect his family. Set against the emotionally charged backdrop of a hospital crisis and financial distress, Deda tells the story of Akhil, a soon-to-be father desperately trying to save his wife Khushi during a high-risk childbirth.
Marking her directorial debut is Hema Shukla, who was associate director of the popular television series Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai and Gujarati films Warso and Kankotri.
“Deda is a deeply personal project. It explores the silent strength and sacrifice of ordinary men in extraordinary situations. As someone who has witnessed similar struggles, directing this story felt like a responsibility. Lead actor Gaurav Passwala, who portrays Akhil, said, “This story is personal. It reflects a reality many hesitate to confront. I am incredibly proud of how the poster captures that essence.”
Helly Shah, who plays Khushi, added, “When it comes to the family’s well-being, fathers do not hesitate to cross any limit. Deda is a tribute to every unsung father, and the poster reflects that powerfully.”
The film also features Hiten Tejwani, Asrani, Sonali Lele Desai, and Mehul Buch in key roles. Deda releases in cinemas worldwide on 4th July 2025.
