New Delhi [India], November 28: In a significant stride toward sustainable agriculture, farmers nationwide are witnessing remarkable success with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) solutions offered by Wavar. From reducing chemical use to improving crop yield and quality, these innovative practices are proving transformative across diverse states including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh.

Dnyaneshwar Shingote, a seasoned farmer from Junnar, Pune, shared his experience using Wavar’s IPM products on his 5-acre chilli plot. He reported that his spraying costs were cut by more than 50%, reducing the need for four sprays per month to just two with minimal chemical use. Shingote has encouraged fellow farmers to adopt these sustainable methods, citing significant cost savings and better outcomes.

In Solapur, Maharashtra, farmer Rameshwar Khune highlighted how Wavar’s Jadugar changed his farming routine. Before adopting IPM, Khune sprayed pesticides like Chlorantraniliprole 18.5% SC daily to protect his chilli crops. However, within just eight days of using the Jadugar trap, he noted a dramatic reduction in pest attacks, resulting in substantial cost savings of ₹4,000-₹5,000 and only a single spray needed during that period. Khune expressed confidence in achieving up to 90% effectiveness with the trap.

Karnataka’s farmer Shivanagouda Biradar, dealing with black thrips in his 3-acre chilli field, experienced a rapid and unexpected turnaround after employing Wavar’s solutions. Similarly, in Madhya Pradesh, Rajat Patidar from Ratlam noted that his pesticide sprays were cut in half when managing fruit fly infestations on his guava farm. The result was a substantial drop in damaged fruits—from 15-20 per 50 harvested guavas to just 2-3—leading to improved fruit quality and size.

Shivram Sanodiya of Seoni, Madhya Pradesh, who has been cultivating vegetables for over a decade, faced persistent challenges with brinjal shoot and fruit borer pests. After integrating IPM, Sanodiya reported up to a 70% reduction in pest issues, allowing for healthier produce and better market prices.

In Gujarat, farmers like Kalpesh Chovatiya and Harshad Naik showcased the powerful impact of Wavar’s IPM. Chovatiya, initially skeptical about IPM, was struggling with severe fruit fly damage in his ivy gourd crops. After using Wavar’s products, the damage rate dropped from affecting nearly all produce to just 1%—a stark contrast that restored his faith in sustainable farming practices. Naik, a horticulturist in Navsari, implemented IPM early in the mango fruiting stage for varieties such as Dasehari, Hapus, and Kesar. This proactive approach helped him mitigate fruit fly issues and reduced hazardous pesticide use during crucial fruiting periods.

Wavar’s commitment to sustainability and innovation is exemplified through the positive feedback from farmers. By adopting IPM practices, they have not only enhanced their profitability but also supported eco-friendly agriculture that benefits communities across the country.

“The success stories we’re seeing are a testament to the resilience of farmers and the effectiveness of our IPM solutions,” said Mr. Sanjay and Mr Joy , Co-founders of Wavar. “We are proud to be part of their journey towards sustainable and profitable farming.”

Wavar continues to be a leader in agri-tech & IPM, empowering farmers through advanced pest management and sustainable solutions that promise a brighter, more productive future for Indian agriculture.
