“Phoolo Wali Holi” was more than just a festival—it was a movement, a conscious effort to blend tradition with sustainability. Introduced by renowned filmmaker, philanthropist, designer, and activist Dr. Sanjanaa Jon, this initiative emerged as an extension of her groundbreaking H2OMovement 2.0 – Walk for Water, Walk for Life & Swab for Life under PACT (Par Anand Charitable Trust). With a mission to Save Water and Save Lives, ”Phoolo Wali Holi” reimagined the festival as an eco-friendly, culturally rich, and spiritually uplifting experience.

“Phoolo Wali Holi” championed a sustainable, water-conscious approach by replacing chemical-laden colors with organic flower petals, ensuring that the festival remained both joyous and environmentally responsible. This eco-spiritual gathering aligned with the broader objectives of H2OMovement 2.0, advocating for global water conservation while preserving the cultural and spiritual essence of Holi

Dr. Sanjanaa Jon’s H2OMovement 2.0 focused on Walk for Water – A global initiative that united communities and leaders to address water crises through collective action. Water for the Voiceless – Ensuring clean water access for underserved communities and wildlife. Creation of Water Bodies – Developing sustainable water sources to secure a better future and Empowering Youth – Engaging children and young activists to drive long-term water conservation efforts.

“Phoolo Wali Holi” became a global cultural landmark, attracting diplomats, celebrities, hospitality pioneers, and international dignitaries. It provided an opportunity to position Holi as an internationally recognized cultural and spiritual experience, celebrate India’s heritage while advocating for sustainability, and showcase the country’s leadership in pioneering environmental and social impact initiatives.

Reflecting on her movement, Dr. Sanjanaa Jon stated,

“Phoolo Wali Holi was a movement towards a more conscious, ethical, and compassionate humanitarian world. Through H2OMovement 2.0, we not only preserved our cultural and spiritual heritage but also took a stand for sustainability—not just for humans but for the Voiceless too. By choosing flowers over chemicals and conservation over waste, we redefined the way we celebrate, ensuring that joy and responsibility went hand in hand. Together, we coloured the world with purpose, one petal at a time, and saved the world one drop at a time”
