New Delhi [India], January 20: Dr. Kiran Puttappa, a well-known Family Physician, entrepreneur, and community leader, has made a significant impact on healthcare in Perth, Western Australia. Born in Mysore, India, he completed his early education at Vidyaniketan and Sarvodaya College in Tumkur before earning his medical degree from JSS Medical College, Mysore.

He underwent medical training in the United Kingdom, where he further honed his skills in healthcare delivery before moving to Australia permanently.

As the founder and CEO of GP West Group, a wide network of primary care centres employing over 200 doctors who serve thousands of patients across Perth, he is dedicated to ensuring high-quality healthcare for everyone while actively addressing the shortage of doctors in the region. By mentoring and supporting international medical graduates, he has played a key role in helping new doctors integrate into Australia’s healthcare system, strengthening its overall capacity.

His expansion into medical real estate has gained a lot of popularity and facilitated modern medical centres, focusing on developing healthcare facilities that combine advanced medical services with state-of-the-art infrastructure.

Dr. Kiran Puttappa is a current council member of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has been deeply involved in advocacy and policy making for the last 10 years. He also served as a panel member of AHPRA. His work in these roles has focused on improving healthcare standards and addressing systemic challenges within the Australian medical landscape.

A major highlight of Dr. Kiran Puttappa’s work is his role as President of the Australian Indian Medical Association  – WA (AIMA). Through his leadership, AIMA has organized numerous health awareness campaigns, charity initiatives, and cultural programs that unite the Indian and Australian communities. He also collaborates closely with government bodies and is part of the advocacy and policymaking team of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Beyond healthcare, Dr. Kiran Puttappa co-founded MediPortal , a smart AI-based software platform designed to streamline clinic operations and improve care for chronic disease patients. He has also been instrumental in real estate ventures, focusing on developing modern healthcare facilities that combine advanced medical services with state-of-the-art infrastructure.

In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Kiran Puttappa is deeply committed to philanthropy. He has actively supported fundraising efforts for organizations such as Destiny Rescue, Save the Children, and Perth Children’s Hospital, positively impacting countless lives.

He is also a strong supporter of Indian Society of West Australia, WA Kannada Sangha of Australia and Basava Samithi of Australia, further showcasing his dedication to the cultural and social well-being of the community.

With his commitment to healthcare, technology, real estate, and community service, Dr. Kiran Puttappa continues to make a lasting difference in Perth. His leadership, especially as President of AIMA, inspires not only the medical community but also the younger generation, encouraging them to work towards creating a better future for all.

I dwell in the in-betweens—never sure, never boisterous. Hesitant and obstinate, I see what I'm doing through to completion in ways that never map it out. As a writer, I embrace the grey and the neglected. Nature grounds me, words define me, and I've made peace with being slightly out of step.
