New Delhi [India], July 2: In a landmark move to promote Ease of Doing Business, the Delhi Government has announced that hotels, restaurants, guest houses, and discotheques in the capital will no longer be required to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Delhi Police. This reform brings significant relief to business owners, particularly in tourism-centric areas such as Paharganj.

Welcoming the decision, the hotel industry organized a special felicitation ceremony on June 30 at Hotel Novotel, Paharganj. The event was jointly hosted by the Guest House Owners Association and the Paharganj Hotel Association.

Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Chief Minister Mrs. Rekha Gupta said,

“The Delhi Government’s priority is to eliminate unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles and create a transparent, seamless, and progressive business environment. The hospitality and tourism sector holds immense potential for employment generation, and this step is a bold move in that direction.”

Ajay Agrawal, President of the Paharganj Hotel Association, said,

“This decision by the Delhi Government brings new hope for hotel and guest house owners. It will significantly reduce red tape and strengthen the tourism ecosystem.”

Lalit mittal, President of the Guest House Owners Association, added,

“We are deeply thankful to the Delhi Government and Delhi Police. Entrepreneurs who were entangled in outdated procedures for years will now experience true administrative relief.”

Senior officials from Delhi Police were also present at the event. They affirmed that going forward, processes related to the hospitality sector would become more tech-driven, transparent, and simplified—while maintaining a strong focus on law and order.

The evening concluded with a dinner and vote of thanks, symbolizing a new era of collaboration and trust between the government, administration, and the hospitality industry.
