    Dehradun’s eat right Walkathon and Millet Mela ignites a Nationwide Movement for Healthy Eating act on the Nation’s dietary habits

    Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India] March 26: The Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Northern Region, is proud to present the “Eat Right Millets Mela and Walkathon” at UPES University in Dehradun on March 22, 2024. This mass awareness campaign aims to promote safe, fortified, and healthy eating practices while emphasizing the importance of millets and reducing food wastage. The event is generously supported by Herbalife, Jubilant Food Works & Perfetti Van Melle.

    We were honored to announce that the Honorable Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd) Hon’ble Governor, Uttarakhand graced the occasion with their esteemed presence and delivered a compelling address to the nation.

    .

    The primary objective of the Eat Right Millets Mela is to educate the public about the nutritional value and health benefits of incorporating millets into their daily diet. To further amplify this message, a Symbolic Walkathon led by students of UPES will be organized to engage and enlighten the local community.

    Mr. G. Kamala Vardhana Rao, Chief Executive Officer of FSSAI, expressed, “We are witnessing an agricultural renaissance with the most ancient crop of the world becoming the present and the future crop,” underscoring the significance of the Millet Walkathon and Mela.

    The grand inauguration of the Eat Right Millets Mela and Walkathon will be graced by the Honorable Governor of Uttarakhand, marking the commencement of this significant event.

    The list of esteemed dignitaries attending includes:

    1. The Hon’ble Governor, Uttarakhand

    2. Ms. Inoshi Sharma, IRS, Executive Director-CS, FSSAI

    3. Sh Tajber Singh, Additional Commissioner, FDA, Uttarakhand

    4. DIG IB Mr. Sukhbeer Singh

    These distinguished guests will play a pivotal role in highlighting the event’s importance and the collective effort to promote healthy eating habits among the public.

    The event will feature various stalls showcasing Eat Right Products, millet-based food recipes that are easy to prepare and integrate into daily meals. Additionally, attendees can look forward to exhibitions, expert discussions, quizzes, rangoli competitions, recipe contests, poster making, slogan writing, cultural shows, millet-based fashion shows, skits, traditional and folk dances, making the Mela a vibrant and informative platform for all.

    This initiative will extend its reach to different regions of the country in collaboration with like-minded organizations and stakeholders. Herbalife, in alignment with its commitment to promoting healthy eating habits nationwide, is actively involved in multi-dimensional initiatives such as Eat Right Campuses, Eat Right Summits, webinars, and various other programs.
