On the occasion of World Science Day and the International Day for Women and Girls in Science, BYJU’S recognizes the importance of STEM education in empowering women and girls to pursue careers in science. This initiative was a part of the brand’s efforts to celebrate the spirit of learning and growth in children

New Delhi (India), February 16: As a leading tech brand, BYJU has been working towards establishing an ecosystem where students can explore their passions and interests through technology-driven pedagogy. On the occasion of World Science Day and International Day for Women and Girls in Science, BYJU’S was proud to celebrate the same by encouraging young girls to think about a career in science.

The team visited the Government Girls Pre-University School and College in Malleshwaram, Bangalore. The students were excited about getting to explore simple physical and chemical laws for themselves through hands-on experiments with real substances. Students were amazed by the science experiments conducted in front of them, and BYJU’S science educators guided them through each experiment with enthusiasm. The students were given a chance to explore science in an engaging way, as they got to participate in the experiments and learn from the BYJU team. The hands-on approach to learning helped students develop a better understanding of concepts such as chemical reactions, density and refraction. The students loved being able to see these principles in action and interact with them by performing simple experiments.

Girls across the country are missing out on opportunities that could have a positive impact on their lives. Studies show that girls are less likely to pursue STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) careers than boys. If we want to see more diversity in the field of science, it is important to encourage girls at an early age so they can develop an interest in STEM fields. BYJU helps students gain confidence in their abilities as they learn new concepts and apply them to real-life situations. By engaging girls at a young age in science, technology and mathematics, we can help them develop a passion for these fields. As such, the team from BYJU’S felt privileged to be part of such an important effort in inspiring girls to pursue their scientific interests.

Sharing their thoughts on the event,  Divya TP, Academic Specialist said “I feel honored to be part of such an important event that aims to inspire girls to pursue their interests in science and technology. By engaging them at a young age, we can help them develop confidence in their abilities and create a generation of women who are leaders in STEM fields.”

Athul MR, Academic Specialist, also added ” Truly a memorable experience. I look forward to participating in more events like this. It is important that we create an environment where girls feel free to pursue their interests and achieve their full potential.”
