Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] May 14: On Sita Navami, the Bhartiya Sindhi Samaj will host a special celebration in honour of Smt. Varsha Gaikwadji in Mumbai. This prominent organisation representing the Sindhi community is led by convener Manish B. The event taking place on May 16 will serve as a public display of support for Smt. Gaikwadji from the Sindhi community residing in Khar and Bandra.

The ceremony, which will be held at Balgandharv Rangmandir near Patwardhan Garden in Bandra West, signifies a shift in political sentiment within Mumbai’s north-central constituency. Smt. Gaikwadji, a former lecturer at Siddharth College of Arts, Science and Commerce and an ex-education minister (Mumbai’s north-central constituency), is widely admired for her contributions to educational reforms and her dedication to supporting children. By hosting this event, the Bhartiya Sindhi Samaj acknowledges her achievements and recognises her potential as the leader of the north-central constituency, comparing her to the revered Sita, a symbol of courage and righteousness.

The event commences at 5.30 pm with the national anthem, followed by a brief prayer ceremony. Attendees can enjoy a delightful program featuring a mix of classic Hindi songs (from the 1950s to the present day) and a captivating performance by renowned doppelganger Sunny Deol.

Smt. Gaikwadji’s grand entrance is scheduled for 7.00 p.m., accompanied by celebratory music and a traditional welcome. This will be followed by a felicitation ceremony, during which dignitaries will present her with a bouquet and shawl. Smt. Gaikwadji will then address the gathering, sharing her vision for the constituency. The program also includes a press meet, allowing media personnel to interact with her.

The evening concludes with an orchestra and a breathtaking beatboxing performance by a talented trio: Mihir Shinde, Mohammad Kaif, and Ganesh Ji. As a token of appreciation, food packets will be distributed to all attendees.

Individuals from various fields are going to attend this event in support of Varsha Gaikwad’s work. Ameen Patel, Nasim Khan, Jagdish Thakur, Bimal Shah, Pankaj Patel, Sanjay Dina Patil, and VIP invitee Fahim Ibrahim Bhaijaan Shaikh (North Central District President Youth Congress) are among those expected.

Their presence, along with special guests like Haji Ibrahim Bhaijaan Shaikh, the Mumbai Minority Secretary for the Congress Party and Minority Chairman, and Priya Dutt ji, former Member of Parliament, reflects a shared vision for growth which aligns with Gaikwad’s goals for a better future.

Aslam Shaikh (MLA from Malad and a member of the Congress), Aditya Uddhav Thackeray, ex-minister and Uddhav Thackeray’s son), Sanjay Dina Patil (ex-member of parliament and contents of Mumbai’s north-east constituency), and Amin Patel (a member of the Maharashtra assembly) will also be among those honoured at the event.

The Bhartiya Sindhi Samaj warmly invites everyone to join this celebratory event and express their support for Smt. Varsha Gaikwadji.
