Pune (Maharashtra) [India], November 21: Anandam, Maharashtra’s only Bengali drama group consistently staging Bengali plays for the last 45 years, continues its mission of making art a force for social good. Known for donating all its profits to support cancer patients and provide education for orphaned children of Kolkata’s sex workers, Anandam has contributed an inspiring ₹1.2 crore to these causes to date.

In its ongoing effort to assist cancer patients, Anandam is proud to present the classic Bengali play, “Kanan Bala Theke Kanan Devi”, a heartfelt depiction of the life and legacy of India’s first superstar and melody queen, Kanan Debi. The play is both written and directed by the acclaimed Lucky Mukherji and has received widespread appreciation for its storytelling and emotional depth.

    Event Details:

    • When: 24th November, 6:00 PM
    • Where: Symbiosis Auditorium, Viman Nagar, Pune

This initiative is a testament to Anandam’s unwavering dedication to using art for a higher purpose. The group invites theatre enthusiasts and supporters of meaningful causes to join this special evening and contribute to making a difference.
