September 16: Shivangi Ruperee, a technologist and an ingenious writer who focuses on real-life inspired stories have recently penned down a book, ‘Through Lemons & Peaches’. It is a light-hearted and phenomenal story of a young girl who is on her way to discovering her dreams while realizing new emotions through evolving phases of her life.
The story revolves around Anushka’s journey to find herself and build the life she envisions as she travels across India and modern Europe. Initially, as a teenager, she derived her happiness and self-worth through achieving her career goals, but as she grows up to become a young adult, she begins to transcend them in search of love. This interesting interplay of chasing dreams and her quest for love evolves her character and personality along the way.
She experiences varied emotions and challenges for the first time and learns to differentiate between her feelings in the process, gradually learning to remain true to the promises she made to her 15-year-old self. This is her quest to gain freedom from her inhibitions, develop wisdom and get her priorities right for making the choices she desires.
Sharing her thoughts on the idea which inspired her to write the book, Shivangi Ruperee said, “I wanted to capture the process that a girl goes through in today’s times, when she aims to become a strong and successful woman, and how she deals with different phases of her life along with it. I think for me as an author, it was important to bring out the refreshing journey of this young girl, her experience of growing up, embracing a new turn at every corner and, in the process, becoming stronger. My idea was to empower readers through Anushka’s story and inspire them to come out bolder and wiser if they are facing similar situations”.
Sharing her thought on the storyline of the book, Shivangi Ruperee said, “There is always that one missing element, which when found, can bring the entire puzzle together like magic and propels one to achieve their desires. We often give up on finding that missing element and fall into the trap of accepting life the way it is. Anushka does not give up. She continues her search and makes her own destiny”. She further added, “Overall, the plot is a mixture of witty humour, inspiring chronicles, love and heartbreaks which will keep the readers engaged throughout”.
Shivangi Ruperee is a storyteller who wishes to bring forward the less discussed emotional miles a person travels. Influenced by real-life experiences, she writes about people who go through the same ups and downs in life as everybody but, unlike others, choose to do something different.
