Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], June 9: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Amigos 21st Century IAS Academy took a significant step towards promoting environmental conservation by organizing a sapling distribution drive. The event, held under the leadership of Director Ramana Reddy, aimed to raise awareness about the importance of preserving nature and its impact on society.
Renowned writer and motivational speaker Akella Raghavendra emphasized the vital role of nature in the survival of our society. He highlighted the necessity for individuals to actively contribute to preserving the environment by planting saplings. Raghavendra stressed that prioritizing the well-being of our living areas’ plant life is crucial for maintaining good health, especially in the current circumstances.
“The allocation of special funds by governments and numerous voluntary organizations, including the World Health Organization, underscores the pressing need to protect and nurture our natural surroundings,” stated Akella Raghavendra. “By observing these efforts, we can truly comprehend the extent of urgency required in safeguarding our environment.”
Advisor Ramana Reddy of Amigos 21st Century IAS Academy echoed Raghavendra’s sentiments, citing the unfortunate loss of lives during the recent COVID-19 pandemic due to a shortage of oxygen. Reddy called upon every individual to contribute to saving the environment by planting saplings. Recognizing the critical role of trees in producing oxygen and maintaining ecological balance, he emphasized the need for collective action.
