Pune (Maharashtra) [India], February 11:  Terrablu Climate Technologies Pvt Ltd, a pioneering climate-tech company focused on scalable decarbonization solutions, has entered into a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST). The strategic collaboration is aimed at advancing digital Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) frameworks and promoting carbon-neutral technologies through the use of data-driven, transparent, and verifiable climate solutions.

This alliance represents a significant step toward strengthening India’s climate-technology ecosystem, with a strong focus on enabling industries to adopt credible, technology-led approaches to emissions accounting and Net Zero planning. By combining Terrablu’s advanced digital platforms with UCOST’s scientific and institutional expertise, the partnership seeks to position Uttarakhand as an emerging hub for next-generation digital carbon solutions.

Digital MRV at the Core of the Collaboration

At the heart of the MoU lies a shared commitment to the development and deployment of digital MRV systems—commonly referred to as DMRV. These systems are designed to deliver transparent, real-time carbon intelligence that aligns with globally recognized climate standards. Digital MRV enables accurate tracking of greenhouse gas emissions, ensures data integrity, and supports verifiable climate action across industries.

Terrablu’s accessible Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform plays a central role in this effort. The platform offers end-to-end carbon accounting capabilities, enabling organizations to measure emissions, design Net Zero pathways, and meet Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) compliance requirements. The technology is tailored for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as well as large industrial clusters, ensuring that sustainability tools are both scalable and practical.

To date, Terrablu’s solutions are already managing over 5.7 million tons of CO₂ emissions, demonstrating the platform’s ability to support large-scale climate initiatives. By integrating data-driven verification and blockchain-enabled traceability, the company’s tools help ensure that emissions data is reliable, auditable, and suitable for long-term climate reporting.

    Leadership Driving Climate Transformation

The collaboration is driven by experienced leadership on both sides. Pradeep Motwani, Chief Executive Officer of Terrablu Climate Technologies, emphasizes the importance of making sustainability both scalable and accessible. Under his leadership, Terrablu has focused on simplifying complex climate processes, enabling businesses to take measurable action toward decarbonization without excessive operational burden.

On the institutional front, Professor Durgesh Pant, Director General of UCOST, brings over 35 years of experience in science and technology innovation. His guidance is expected to play a key role in shaping collaborative initiatives, including knowledge exchange programs and pilot projects designed to test and refine digital carbon solutions in real-world industrial settings.

Together, the leadership teams aim to foster innovation at the intersection of climate science, digital technology, and industrial application. The partnership envisions collaborative research, technology validation, and on-ground pilots that demonstrate the effectiveness of digital MRV systems in supporting credible climate action.

    Advancing a Net Zero Future

This MoU marks a bold step toward tech-powered climate resilience. By empowering industries with reliable digital MRV frameworks, the collaboration supports transparent emissions accounting, informed decision-making, and measurable progress toward Net Zero goals. The alliance underscores the growing role of digital infrastructure in climate governance and highlights how technology can bridge the gap between climate ambition and execution.

Through this partnership, Terrablu Climate Technologies and UCOST reaffirm their shared commitment to building a sustainable, data-driven pathway for industries seeking a Net Zero future.
