Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], December 13: The cultural festival BharatKool Adhyay–2, a grand celebration of India’s rich cultural heritage and the timeless values of Sanatan Dharma, was inaugurated today by Honourable Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel at Gujarat University. Honourable Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Harsh Sanghavi, Pujya Brahmavihari Swamiji, Shri Parimal Nathwani and other eminent personalities graced the occasion. The festival commenced with Vedic chanting by Rishikumars.

The three-day festival, being held from 12 to 14 December 2025, aims to revitalise India’s cultural identity through art, literature, music, spirituality and dialogue. Showcasing a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, the festival promises a unique and enriching experience to thousands of visitors.

Speaking at the inauguration, Honourable Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel said,

“BharatKool Adhyay–2 is not just a cultural festival, but a profound stream of emotions that touches the very soul of Bharat. Here, young people experience the fragrance of Indian culture, the understated beauty of our traditions and the depth of spirituality. Our traditions are as ancient as they are relevant today—BharatKool stands as a living testimony to this truth. Gujarat has always been a confluence of culture, creativity and progressive development, and such festivals further enrich its identity. Culture is not merely music or performance; it is the value system that binds society together.”

    He further added,

“When the youth understand their roots, the nation’s future finds a strong foundation. India’s global stature has risen because we have balanced development with cultural integrity. Platforms like BharatKool ignite new ideas, inspire fresh resolve and illuminate the vision of a New Bharat. When we draw strength from our speech, art and tradition, the path ahead becomes brighter. The Gujarat Government is committed to connecting every young citizen with culture, instilling confidence and empowering them to contribute to national progress. I am confident that BharatKool will continue to serve as a bridge linking our pride, our heritage and our future.”

    Pujya Brahmavihari Swamiji said,

“Where Bhaav, Raag and Taal are celebrated together, culture shines not only through art but through life itself. India’s traditions teach us humility, compassion and coexistence. Such festivals do not merely entertain the youth—they illuminate their path forward. Though ancient, our culture remains ever-inspiring. Understanding culture is not just knowledge—it is a journey of elevating the soul.”

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Harsh Sanghavi said,

“Today’s India is truly ‘cool’—our values, traditions, tolerance and collective strength give us a unique identity in the world. Connecting the youth with culture is both our purpose and our greatest source of energy.”

Speaking with Shri Ajay Umat, Shri Harsh Sanghavi also addressed the topic of sports culture, stating,

“Ahmedabad being chosen to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games is a proud moment for Gujarat and India. The city’s world-class infrastructure and preparations are ready to offer an exceptional experience to international athletes and visitors. This achievement is a result of strong leadership at both state and national levels. It is both a responsibility and an honour for Gujarat to present itself on the global stage.”

Padma Shri Shahabuddin Rathod, beloved across India and abroad for his gentle humour and family-friendly wit, delighted the audience with his signature style of expression.

Pujya Dr Gyanvatsal Swamiji addressed the audience on “The Art of Becoming a Genius” during his session at BharatKool. Swamiji said,

“Becoming a genius is not anyone’s birthright—if we aspire, we can all become exceptional. Our thoughts, emotions and attitudes must align with the eternal wisdom of our scriptures.”
He encouraged the audience to adopt the principle: ‘Stay together, stay aware, and you will stay happy.’

Shri Viral Bapu offered deep insights on the relationship between religion and science.

On the topic of Youth Expression, Parth Trapara, RJ Saloni Rawal and Riju Desai led an engaging conversation.

The audience also enjoyed a vibrant poetry session as part of the festival’s cultural lineup.

The festival features a large exhibition displaying artworks and sculptures by more than 60 artists.

BharatKool Adhyay–2 is organised by the Gujarat Media Club, with Gujarat Tourism as the principal sponsor. Adani, GMDC, GIDC, RARU and RHETAN have joined as chief sponsors, while the Gujarat Sahitya Academy and the Sports Authority of Gujarat are associate sponsors.
