Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 1: IILM University Greater Noida’s Innovation Lab ignited a wave of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit this week by successfully hosting the Start-up Launchpad cum Investor’s Connect on 28th August 2025 at the IGSM Auditorium. The high-energy event marked the official launch of 15 innovative start-ups, underscoring the university’s focus on creating opportunities for young founders to engage with the wider business community.
The event was graced by the Honourable Cabinet Minister, Shri Sunil Kumar Sharma (Department of I.T. and Electronics, Government of Uttar Pradesh), as the Chief Guest. He inaugurated the launchpad, describing it as a key milestone in the region’s efforts to strengthen its start-up landscape.
Speaking at the event, Shri Sunil Kumar Sharma also said: “The Government of Uttar Pradesh is committed to establishing a vibrant start-up hub in the state, and our students will have the full support of the government in turning their ideas into impactful ventures.”
A highlight of the initiative was the full-day exhibition, where participating start-ups showcased their products and services at dedicated stalls. This was complemented by a dynamic pitching round, giving founders a platform to present their business ideas directly to investors, industry experts, and policymakers.
By bringing together students, entrepreneurs, and investors on a shared platform, the initiative demonstrated how academic institutions can play a pivotal role in shaping tomorrow’s business leaders. Moreover, it creates a supportive ecosystem where budding entrepreneurs can build lasting connections, refine their ideas with guidance from mentors, and explore potential funding opportunities.
Dr Taruna Gautam, Vice Chancellor, IILM University Greater Noida, added: “The spirit of entrepreneurship aligns closely with IILM’s vision of preparing students for leadership in a rapidly evolving world. Through initiatives like this, we ensure that our students not only gain academic knowledge but also develop the confidence to network and resources to create meaningful enterprises.”
The event concluded with engaging interactions between investors and start-up founders, with several participants receiving promising feedback and preliminary investment interest. By curating this unique platform, IILM University reaffirmed its role as a catalyst for enterprise, ideas, and long-term impact in the region.
