Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], May 8: Mermaid Film Academy, an internationally recognized and one of Kolkata’s top-class premium category dance institutes, hosted its spectacular Annual Event 2025 at the prestigious Jai Hind Auditorium, leaving the audience mesmerized with a celebration of talent, culture, and community spirit.
The evening began with the ceremonial Pradip Prajwalan, followed by the felicitation of distinguished guests: Nabaneet Gupta, Assistant Vice President of Reliance Industries Limited – Tower Division, Eastern Region; Bhaskar Rout, a renowned choreographer known for his work in films and television reality shows; Debraj Sarkar, acclaimed Bharatnatyam dancer and choreographer; and the vibrant Mahul Band, celebrated for their powerful Bengali folk performances.
What made this year’s event truly special was the heartfelt participation from all corners of the Mermaid community. Alongside the students’ spectacular performances in classical, Bollywood, and fusion dance styles, the event featured guest performers as well as inspiring performances by students’ mothers and fathers — a highlight that won the hearts of the audience and added a beautiful family spirit to the celebration.
In recognition of the hard work and dedication shown throughout the year, Khushi Choudhury, Director and Choreographer of Mermaid Film Academy, also personally distributed Excellence Certificates to all qualified students, encouraging and motivating them to keep growing as artists.
