    Shaan 2024: Celebrating Sindhi Culture, Fashion, and Entrepreneurship at H.R. College

    Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 10: The highly anticipated Sindhi intercollegiate fest, Shaan 2024, concluded on 22nd December, making a memorable impact on Mumbai’s cultural and entrepreneurial landscape. Hosted by H.R. College of Commerce and Economics from 20th to 22nd December, Shaan 2024 showcased Sindhi culture, creativity, and innovation, uniting students and cultural enthusiasts for three unforgettable days.

    The fest featured exciting competitions, performances, and discussions, honoring Sindhi traditions while highlighting the community’s influence in business, fashion, and digital media. It included Umeed, a social initiative assisting marginalized communities in Ulhasnagar and Ambernath.

    Shaan 2024 kicked off with an inauguration ceremony attended by Dr. Kishu Mansukhani and Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, Principal of H.R. College. Distinguished guests included: Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Hon. Provost of HSNC University and real estate mogul and philanthropist, Dr. Ram Jawahrani, founder of the Sahyog Foundation, Lakhan Gurdasani, founder of the Sindh Show podcast and musician, Kamlesh Kapoor, expert in Sindhi folk music, Manisha Punjabi, Instagram influencer advocating for Sindhi culture, Simran Dhanwani, leading fashion influencer and    Akash Dodeja, popular YouTuber and content creator.

    Judges for Dance, Fashion Show, Business, and Singing events included Pankaj Barua, Simran Dhanwani, and others. With over 1400 attendees, Shaan 2024 became a landmark Sindhi festival in Mumbai.

    Signature Events:

    • Rakh Sandliya Teh Per – Sindhi Dance Event: A vibrant competition showcasing traditional Sindhi dances, featuring colorful outfits and rhythmic performances.

    • Hik Son Jo Rupayo – Sindhi Fashion Show: A stunning display of Sindhi couture, merging tradition with modernity, celebrating exquisite craftsmanship.

    • Dhandho Pani – Sindhi Business Pitch Event: A platform for students to present entrepreneurial ideas, fostering critical thinking and innovation within the Sindhi community.

    Shaan 2024 set a new benchmark for cultural fests, blending tradition with innovation and inspiring the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs. Guided by esteemed guests, Shaan 2024 empowered students to embrace their cultural roots while looking forward with creativity and ambition.

    H.R. College of Commerce and Economics proudly hosted this event and seeks to continue the legacy of Shaan by celebrating Sindhi culture and empowering youth in the years to come.

    During the closing ceremony Dr. Ramchandani said, “As the principal of this Sindhi minority institution, I wholeheartedly believe that Shaan serves as a vital platform for students to showcase their rich cultural heritage and foster unity among different colleges. This event celebrates our traditions and values and encourages collaboration, creativity, and camaraderie among the youth. We must create such opportunities to promote cultural pride and mutual respect, ensuring our legacy and culture of Sindhiyat continues to thrive in future generations.”
