Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], January 8: Chennai is set to witness the grand release of the book “Veera Savarkar Oru Kalagakaaranin Kathai” written by BJP State Secretary Dr S.G. Suryah, on behalf of the Chennai Citizens’ Forum. The event is scheduled to take place at Krishna Gana Sabha, T. Nagar, on January 4 at 4 PM.
The book will be officially released by B.L. Santosh, General Secretary of BJP’s National Organization, who also inspired the creation of this work. He will preside over the event, which is expected to draw prominent figures, including BJP State President Annamalai, BJP Women’s Wing National President and Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan, senior journalists Rangaraj Pandey and Kolaakala Srinivas.
About Dr. S.G. Suryah
Dr. S.G. Suryah, a multifaceted personality excelling as a startup businessman, politician, and corporate lawyer, has now ventured into writing with this remarkable book. The grandson of Tirukovilur Sundaram, one of the founders of the BJP Tamilnadu in 1980, Suryah has carried forward his grandfather’s legacy with distinction. Appointed as the BJP Tamil Nadu State Secretary in 2022, he has spearheaded numerous welfare initiatives, particularly for youth and students. His commendable efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic earned widespread recognition from the party leadership.
The book on Veera Savarkar stems from the encouragement provided by B.L. Santosh during his tenure as BJP National Joint Secretary. Dr.Suryah embarked on this ambitious project in 2016, conducting extensive field research over eight years to uncover the real-life stories, policies, and ideologies of Veera Savarkar. His academic background in Pune gave him access to authentic information about Savarkar, a revered leader in the region.
Speaking about the book, Dr. Suryah remarked, “Many mistakenly perceive Savarkar as a radical Hindu. However, he was an atheist and a reformist. Through this book, I aim to bring out lesser-known facts about his life and philosophy.”
Social contributions of Dr. S.G. Suryah beyond politics
Dr. Suryah has made significant contributions to social welfare through his charity, the Namo Vasavi Foundation. His initiatives, such as NaMo Meal, which provides meals to the underprivileged, and NaMo Gurukulam, which supports the education of economically disadvantaged children, have positively impacted thousands of lives. Notably, he is currently funding the education of over 500 children in South Chennai under project Karka Kasadara.
The book release ceremony promises to be a significant cultural and political event, shedding light on the life and contributions of Veer Savarkar while celebrating the literary prowess of Dr. S.G. Suryah.
