Police officers from the Gujarat police force secured the gold medal in the Badminton Championship, enhancing the reputation of both Gujarat and its police force.
The 16th All India Police Badminton Championship Tournament 2023-24 was hosted by Police and Military Forces from various states at the renowned Gopichand Badminton Academy in Hyderabad, Telangana. Twenty-nine teams from across the nation participated in this tournament, spanning from March 17 to March 23, 2024. The police officers from Gujarat claimed the gold medal by emerging victorious in the men’s doubles tournament.
DySP Kumpawat, stationed at Khambhat, and DySP Jitendra Yadav, stationed at Sabarmati Jail, from the Gujarat Police Force, showed excellent performance, defeating last year’s winning team of CRPF in the Badminton Men’s Doubles event.
DySP Jeetendra Yadav, assigned to Ahmedabad Cyber Crime and currently serving at Sabarmati Jail, while DySP S. B. Kumpawat is currently serving at Khambhat.
