New Delhi (India), January 19: Recognizing the Nari Shakti an Ultra Marathon named Nari Shakti Vandan Run was Flagged off today at 0636 h from the historic Rani Lakshmi Bai fort, Jhansi by the Veer Naris Smt Rashpal Kaur & Smt Santosh Kumari in the presence of Maj Gen MK Mathur, GOC, 31 Armd Div.
Brig SPS Rautela, Cdr, NCC Gp Kanpur was also present during the flag-off ceremony.
The event was witnessed by the Offrs from HQ 31 Armd Div, 56 NCC Bn NCC Jhansi and 32 NCC Bn( Girls) Jhansi apart from the JCOs, NCOs, 250 NCC cadets, 25 ANOs, and the media pers.
The runner Maj Shashi Mehta from UK Dte NCC under the overall coord of Col Rajesh Rawat, UK Dte NCC started her run of 470 Km amid loud cheering by the NCC cadets. The run will pass through MP & CG NCC Dte, UP NCC Dte, Rajasthan NCC Dte, PHHP&C NCC Dte and finally ending at Delhi NCC Dte wherein the symbol of Nari shakti, a sword will be handed over to the honorable PM.
Directed by Anjali Bhandari & her team, this race event celebrates and recognizes the strength and empowerment of women.
