July 14: With renewed vigor, fresh enthusiasm, and new dreams of taking Rotary International District 3011 to new heights, the grand oath ceremony of the District was held on July 1 at Taj Palace. Over 500 Rotarians from the District were present in Taj Palace, Chanakyapuri on Friday, July 1 when Rtn. Ashok Kantoor, from the Rotary Club of Delhi West, was formally installed as the District Governor for RY 2022-23 of Rotary International District 3011.
The ceremony was graced by Rotary International Director, Dr. Mahesh Kotbagi as the Chief Guest along with the Past District Governors. RID Dr Mahesh Kotbagi gave an address that left all the Rotarians spellbound. He complemented DG Ashok Kantoor for his excellent plans for the Dream year and guided him and the audience that District 3011 has an unparalleled position in the Rotary World and all the Rotarians have the responsibility of keeping this top-notch position secure and safe.
DG Ashok Kantoor created history on 1st July 2022 by making District 3011, the very first 100% Digital District in India. Referring to Rotary International President 2022-23, Jennifer Jones’ theme for Rotarians “Imagine Rotary”, he urged District members to brace up to make a difference in people’s lives in areas including health and education.
“We have only 364 days more, ab aap dil se khub kaam karo, ji bhar ke masti karo, yeh samay dubara nahi aaayega. You will cherish the memories of your year for the rest of your life,” he said.
Thanking the District for the opportunity to serve and courting support, Rtn. Ashok Kantoor said, “It is such a beautiful theme that has made us dream and visualize anything and everything. With this spirit, we have dreamt big, planned big and now we are ready for execution. We have already done our goal settings. Now the time has come for action.”
At the end of his speech, Rtn. Ashok Kantoor addressed the fellow Rotarians and urged them to rise and show the Rotary World that in 2022-2023, District 3011 will be one of the finest districts not only in the country but in the world.
