South and South-East Asia is an epicentre of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) epidemic, with India estimated to have the largest burden. People are suffering from HIV infection face discrimination, stigmatization and denial (DSD). They continue to be burdened by poor care and inadequate services, finding it tough to get their surgical needs addressed. Currently, there’s no cure for HIV/AIDS.
Carrying out surgeries or treatments for HIV-positive patients needs certain special facilities, equipment and training to provide the right care while ensuring the safety of the treating team. Further, the safety protocols demand a lot of disposable material and sanitization of OT and all equipment which involves significantly higher costs. FirstCure Health has created a network of senior surgeons and hospitals in Delhi NCR which have the trained staff, facilities and equipment to provide quality treatment at reasonable costs to the patients affected by HIV.
