    New Delhi [India], December 19: The Search Light International Film Festival-25 Mumbai successfully concluded on 14 Dec 2025 with an inspiring celebration of independent cinema, emerging voices, and powerful storytelling from across the globe. The festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from filmmakers, film lovers, critics, and industry professionals, reaffirming its growing reputation as a significant platform for meaningful and socially relevant cinema.

    This year’s edition received entries from more than 18 countries, showcasing a diverse range of feature films, short films, documentaries, animations, and experimental works like LUJURIA directed by Iñaki Aguilar from Maxico, THE 1OO directed by Raghav Omkar Sasidhar from India, Only the dead fish go with the flow directed by Gomes Christophe from France & more. The carefully curated official selection reflected bold narratives and strong thematic depth, highlighting voices that often remain underrepresented in mainstream cinema.

    The festival screenings at Mumbai were met with overwhelming audience response, sparking engaging discussions, filmmaker interactions, and insightful Q&A sessions. The jury—comprising respected filmmakers, critics, and industry experts—praised the overall quality of submissions and the courage of filmmakers in addressing contemporary and thought-provoking subjects.

    Little Yellow Flower directed by Chien-Ping Lin from Taiwan won best short film, Tristan is wild directed by Borja Pascual from Spain won best short film- jury, Tell The Wind Too directed by Sina Khani from Iran won best feature film, Afterwards directed by Márcio Andrade won best animation, Leti so mnoy – fly with me directed by Michaela Maria Emzero from Austria won best director- jury etc

    Alongside screenings, the festival hosted masterclasses on short films marketing, distribution & revenue generation and Film Funding and talks on OTT & film production in current age and networking sessions, offering valuable learning and collaboration opportunities for aspiring and established filmmakers alike. These sessions fostered creative exchange and strengthened the festival’s role as a knowledge-sharing platform.

    Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rambhul Singh- Festival Director, expressed gratitude to all filmmakers, jury members, partners, and audiences for making SLIFF-25 a memorable success. They reiterated the festival’s vision to remain a “search light” for powerful stories that deserve global attention and to continue supporting independent cinema beyond borders.
